01Affiliate disclosure
This site earns money through Travelpayouts, an affiliate network. Through it we join the affiliate programmes of travel brands, such as Booking.com for stays and Aviasales for flights. Each brand approves us separately. Once a brand has approved us, links to it are affiliate links: if you book through one, we may earn a commission. That commission is how this site is meant to pay for itself.
The brands we link to. Approval can take days and differs by brand, so every link to them carries the same label, “We may earn a commission”:
- Booking.com (stays)
- Tiqets (tours and tickets)
- Klook (tours and tickets)
- Welcome Pickups (airport transfers)
- AutoEurope (car hire)
- Airalo (esim data)
- Radical Storage (luggage storage)
- Aviasales (flights)
Links to a brand that has approved us are labelled “Affiliate link” next to the button; links to a brand that has not are labelled “Link to” and the brand's name. Both kinds open the brand's own site in a new tab and carry the rel="sponsored" attribute for search engines.
Commission never decides what we cover. No hotel, tourism board or brand can pay to be included, and whether a page earns commission has no bearing on what it says.
02Paid placement
Placement in guides or on the hotels page is not for sale.
03Prices and accuracy
We do not publish hotel prices. They change constantly, so check the current price and conditions when you book. Every figure we do publish is cited to its source with the date we checked it.
04Privacy
This site collects as little as possible.
- Analytics. This site runs no analytics at present.
- Newsletter. We do not run a newsletter at present, so we hold no email addresses.
- Email. If you email us at [email protected], we receive your email address and your message, and use them only to reply. The mailbox is a Gmail account, so Google's own privacy policy also applies to it.
- Photos. The photos are stored on this site, so looking at them sends nothing to Pexels or Pixabay. The credit links take you to those sites, where their own policies apply.
- Brands we link to. When you follow a link to Booking.com or another travel brand, you leave this site, and that brand's own privacy and cookie policies apply.
- Pins and trip tools. If you press Save, or use My pins, the trip planner or the other trip tools, what you save or type is kept in your browser's local storage on your device. It is not sent to us, and there is no account. “Recently viewed” on My pins is off unless you switch it on there; when on, it keeps a list of the last 30 pages you opened on this site, on your device only, until you clear it or switch it off. A share link carries your list after the # sign, which browsers do not send to our server; anyone you give the link to can see what is in it, notes included. If you press Email, WhatsApp, Telegram or X, that app or site receives the message and the link you send, under its own privacy policy. When our cookie notice is shown and you accept it, a script from Travelpayouts, our affiliate network, also runs on our pages; like any script on a page, it can technically read the page and what this site keeps in your browser. While no notice is shown, that script is not used.
05Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. It remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device; your pins, saved trips and what you enter in the trip tools are kept the same way. The golden-hour calculator can use your device's location, but only if you press its "Use my location" button and allow it; the location is used in your browser to work out the times and is never sent to us or stored. Sites we link to, such as Booking.com and Aviasales, may set their own cookies once you visit them.
